Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge to
experience an Old World German "Willkommen"!
During a recent www.hotelfun4kids.com
"Visits..." to Frankenmuth, Michigan's Little Bavaria
we had the opportunity to experience an authentic German "Willkommen"
at Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge and we wanted to share the old world
charm and hospitality of this Hotel through a www.hotelfun4kids.com
"Visits..." article.
Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge
Located just steps away from Main Street, on the bank of
the Cass River, sits the majestic Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge.
This family owned and operated authentic Bavarian style Hotel features Old
World European charm and decor, hand carved woodwork and imported German wall decor.
Be sure to look up when you enter the hotel's main lobby
for a spectacular array of wooden carvings and Bavarian articles. A
loft area over the entrance features a display that is best viewed from a
second floor landing and is not to be missed, especially at Christmas
time. Also near the main lobby is the courtyard pool - reserved for
adults only.
|
The 355 guest rooms, many with river view feature a balcony or patio,
all the
modern amenities of a first class hotel and European furnishing.. |
Families can choose
from standard guestrooms, connecting, whirlpool and family suites and over
250 non-smoking rooms. Each room at the Lodge bears the name
of a local German family and inside you will find photos and a brief
outline of the family's history in Frankenmuth.
Throughout the hotel families can enjoy sitting areas that
are designed to serve as meeting and resting lounges. The hotel is non-smoking, except for designated areas and rooms.
Family Fun Center
Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge's Family Fun Center is an
entire floor activities and facilities that children of all ages can enjoy
during their stay, including four of the Hotel's five indoor
pools.
The Waterfall Pool transported us to a secluded mountain
lake where we swam under the falls and enjoyed a whirlpool surrounded by
beautiful hand painted scenes.
Centrally located, the Indoor Family Fun Center Pool and
whirlpool, which can also be accessed by stairs that descend down the
atrium's side, was a popular choice for us.
The most recent addition to the Family Fun Center is the
new family indoor swimming deck, accessible from the Family Fun Center
Pool.
|
We watched babies and toddlers enjoy the kiddie
pool with gentle sprinklers and fountains during our visit while the boys spent most of their time squirting each other at the Squirt Gun
and Current Pool. |
There is also plenty of dry land activities in the Family
Fun Center. For children ages 2-8 there is a themed two-story
Village and play area that features a slide and toys. |
|
For children of all ages a variety of arcade, video and
other games offer the chance to collect tickets to redeem for
prizes.
Willy's 18-hole Bavarian themed indoor mini-golf course
gave us a chance for some putting competition with our youngest son,
Stephen, surprising us with 2 hole in ones.
At Michael's Toys and Treasures - a gift and souvenir shop
- the boys decided to try their "Hand" at making a wax
hand.
Stephen was concerned at first about putting his hand in the
wax but was proud of the end result as Mitchell got ready for his turn. |
|
The fitness center is also located on this floor. An
adult only pool is located in the courtyard by the main lobby.
Hint: Tower rooms are great for families and have
easy access to the Family Fun Center with elevators that go right down to
this floor. If you want to be really close to the action, request a
room on the same floor as the Family Fun Center.
Dining
For casual and quick cafeteria style dining the Ratskeller,
located in the Family Fun Center is ideal, offers friendly service for
breakfast, lunch, dinner or a light snack.
For some authentic German cuisine, Oma's Restaurant was
were we headed. The children's menu was ideal for the boys. My
husband and I enjoyed the German Sampler and friendly service so much for
dinner we returned the following morning for a hearty Breakfast.
Lunch and Sunday Brunch are also popular in this restaurant.
We also took the complimentary shuttle across the covered
bridge (you can walk too) to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant for the famous
all you can eat chicken dinner. Go to www.hotelfun4kids.com Visits ... Frankenmuth - "Michigan's Little Bavaria" For a taste of Germany and Christmas Year-round in this Fun

Entertainment
A happy hour, nightly live entertainment and dancing take
place in the Lorelei Lounge with a selection of draft and bottled beers,
blended drinks and light snack menu available.
Karaoke for the entire family or live entertainment are
featured regularly in the Ratskeller.
Special events throughout the year may include a visit
from Willy the Dragon, including Breakfast with Santa.
First class accommodations with old world charm,
family friendly facilities and plenty of fun, all just a short walk or
shuttle ride from Main Street, make Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge a great
place to stay during in Michigan's "Little
Bavaria". Bring your family to Frankenmuth so your
family can experience a Frankenmuth "Willkommen".
