Logos Land Resort and Roaring Rivers
Water Park to Stay and Play at this Four-Season Family Fun Resort
July, 2002
Half way between Pembroke and Renfrew, Ontario in the Ottawa Valley is
were we ventured for this www.hotelfun4kids.com
"Visits..." to Logos Land Resort and Roaring Rivers Water
Park.
To add even more splash to the "Visit" we included a Family
Float run by Owl
Rafting on the Ottawa River. See www.hotelfun4kids.com Visits ... Owl Rafting to Experience a Family Float down the Ottawa River
Rapids
We knew we had reached Logos Land Resort when we spotted the trademark
"Noah's Ark Restaurant and Gift Shop". You can't miss the Boat, a 1/4
scale replica of the Ark, just minutes south of the
town of Cobden on Highway 17. The Ark marks the entrance to
the resort and water park and also serves as the Resort's registration area
for overnight guests.
Roaring Rivers Water Park
Roaring Rivers Water Park is set in a sheltered valley
with plenty of wet and dry fun for the whole family.
|
Two 390' Giant Waterslides are side by side, perfect for a
challenge race to the bottom. The Life guards are well trained and all too willing to count
down for the racers. |
A single red racing slide is also ready for
those with more need for speed and "If you lay down it's even
faster" I was told.
For younger children there is a mini pool with water
umbrella and two 60' children's slides. Water wings are permitted on
the children's slides. A life guard is on hand to catch those sliders
who are just learning the techniques or are hesitant to slide into the
pool directly. A nice feature of the children's water area is that
there are no stairs to slip on. A sloped walkway beside the slides
makes it easy to get
back up to the top for little feet.
Spring-fed Astrolabe Lake features a sandy wading beach,
paddle boats and watercraft for rent. The swimming area is ideal for
a refreshing dip.
A very popular activity on the lake is the Water
Trampoline.
Wearing life jackets, our kids swam out to the
Trampoline and used some of their boundless energy to bounce and jump into
the clear lake waters. The Trampoline is supervised but we
still kept a watchful eye. |
|
Picnic tables, grassy areas and shelters at the park are
ideal for a picnic lunch. The Grill House also serves up many favourites.
We decided to take advantage of the Pizza Hut Express located at the Ark
and enjoyed our lunch as a picnic at the park.
Be sure to take a walk over to Noah's Animal Farm, where
Shalee the pot-belly pig is waiting for a back scratch. If you do it
right she will reward you
with a grunt. Lamas, sheep, goats and chickens are just some of
the other residents at this petting area. Be sure to wash your hands with
soap at the sink provided. See Petting Zoo and Animal Exhibit Safety Tips
for more information.
There are more pursuits for families to enjoy at Roaring Rivers
