Outrigger Waikiki Offers Aquatic
Adventures...Just for Kids
HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII -Kids have even more to enjoy at the
Outrigger Waikiki! The Outrigger Waikiki kid's snorkeling program,
"Introduction to the Waters of Hawaii," kicked off on August 1st. This
exciting new program gives kids a chance to learn the ins and outs of snorkeling in a
safe environment...and it's free!
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 - 8:45 a.m., kids can
sign up to learn how to snorkel in the Outrigger Waikiki pool. They
will learn snorkeling techniques from AquaZone, a well-respected company with
more than 15 years of experience. For the month of August, each child
who signs up for a free lesson will receive a copy of the Fishes of Hawaii
Coloring Book.
The whole family is welcome to participate in the complimentary
program.
If your child wants to continue his or her adventures, Outrigger
Waikiki will also offer three action-packed missions designed to educate
children
about Hawaii's marine life as well as focus on environmental
awareness and safety.
These missions were created in conjunction with PADI
(Professional
Association of Diving Instructors), a national organization that
teaches the vast majority of the world's recreational divers and the PADI Seal
Team
(youth program).
The three "AquaMissions" that will be available are The
Humuhumu AquaMission
(ages 6 and up) includes a fish ID card, sticker, AquaMission
Certificate, snorkel briefing and fish finding and identifying tour in the
ocean or at
the Waikiki Aquarium; the Honu (green sea turtle) AquaMission
(ages 8 and
up) includes a honu information pack, sticker, AquaMission
certificate,
snorkel briefing and boat tour to spot the honu; and the Hawaiian
Monk Seal
AquaMission (ages 6 and up) includes a monk seal information pack,
coloring
book, video viewing, and tour of the Waikiki Aquarium to study the
endangered Hawaiian monk seal.
The AquaMissions will give kids a chance to explore the unique
marine life
of Hawaii. Each mission will cost $55 and includes a pass
for free admission to the Waikiki Aquarium where your child can learn even
more about
Hawaii's ocean creatures. The Waikiki Aquarium showcases 400
different
marine species as well as houses Hawaiian monk seals, an
endangered species
found only in the Hawaiian Islands.
Outrigger Waikiki is always on the lookout to make your stay more
unique and
fun-filled. This new snorkeling program is a great chance
