Make the Most of
Family Travel at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa
The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa helps
families make the most of their vacation. Here is a sample
of what they have to offer:
Children 5 to 12 receive a
gift souvenir that is sure to please mom, dad and the kids. After
a day of play at Camp Hyatt, each child receives Family Camp
Adventures at Hyatt Regency Maui, a keiki
(Hawaiian word for children) travel journal packed with fun
activities for children and their parents'
The souvenir journal offers tips on how to make
the most of a family vacation and resort activity ideas. In
addition, the booklet provides kids a place to record their Maui
memories and mementos.
"Camp Hyatt, our activity program for kids
only, continues to be a great way for kids to get to play with
other kids visiting the resort," said Paul Albares, the
resort's Director of Recreation. "Once their day at Camp
Hyatt is done, the travel journal is a packed with fun activities
that they can do with mom and dad. Best of all, once kids
return home and have a journal filled with memories, they can
always recall their Maui experience."
Other fun activities include free Wildlife
Tours held three times a week. During the one hour walking
tour, kids get acquainted with the wild personalities of the
resort's animal family including penquins, swans, ducks and
flamingos. Children can play games such as call and response with
an East African crowned crane named "Spike."
Family Camp Adventures at Hyatt Regency Maui is
also filled with activity ideas for young children to share with
their teen siblings such as free pool scuba lessons (for
those age 12 or older) held daily, and ocean adventures on
Kiele V, the resort's catamaran. During the winter sails,
whales are frequently seen, and sea turtles are spotted year
round. Special rates are available for children, age 13 or under.
Another must-do for families with kids of all
ages is Tour of the Stars Hyatt Regency Maui's rooftop
astronomy program. Maui's heavenly views of planets, collapsing
stars and supemovas are seen through "Big Blue," the
resort's high powered 16-inch telescope. Discounted rates are
available to children, ages 12 and under.
