Children Have it All at JW Marriott
Ihilani Resort & Spa's KEIKI BEACHCOMBER CLUBKo
Olina, Hawaii (2000) - Children who like to be treated like their
parents, with freedom, fun and all the amenities, will feel right
at home at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina. The
Keiki Beachcomber Club is an extensive, thoughtful and dynamic
supervised program designed to please young guests between the
ages of 4 to 12 years with everything from a state-of-the-art
Computer Learning Center to nightly turndown amenities, a 125
gallon fish tank and a specially designed, ground-level facility
with 1,800 square feet of indoor and outdoor
activities. "Children
play a role in choosing a destination for their family
vacation," explains Julie Ariola, Children's program
supervisor at the JW Marriott Ihilani. "Surveys show
that kids make plans for their vacation around pools and
activities". "There is a strong
cross-cultural interaction between the children," explains
Ariola. "When they arrive, they're shown a globe to see
where everyone is from. Toys, games and crafts of an
international and
cultural nature help children learn about their
new friends and other countries while they're having fun." The
ratio of one counselor to nine children assures personalized
attention and quality care. The location of the hotel
on the ocean, on one of four lagoons, offers opportunity for
ocean exploration around reefs and tidal pools.
And because of the location in Hawaii, the cultural sharing
of games, crafts, foods and other international experiences
are the hallmark of the Keiki Beachcomber Club
program. At the club,
participants have a number of activities to experience from:
- scavenger and treasure hunts
- swim and snorkel
- compete in the Crazy Olympics' water
and land games
- join in on karaoke and lip sync
contests
- do the hula
- string leis
- create international arts and crafts
masterpieces
- build a sandcastle or two
- take golf and tennis lessons
- stretch their imagination with skits,
puppet and talent shows
- show off their skills with Super
Nintendo video challenges and more.
The club also features a computer learning
center, ping pong and board games. Because
the Keiki Beachcomber Club believes each child is individual
and special, every member has his or her own personalized
guest history, welcome letter and birthday cards. Licensed
by the State of Hawaii, the Keiki Beachcomber program also
provides nutritional meals and snacks from outstanding menus
created specially for children. Daily
activities begin at 9 am and continue until 3 pm. Full
and Half day participation is available. To
