Other Activities
Some of the best family activities are spread out at your feet,
like hiking the trails, cycling, fishing, digging clams, picking
strawberries and of course, heading to the beach. A visit to the
lobster pound or a climb to the top of a lighthouse can turn into
a memorable adventure for a child.
Any kid loves to get out on the water. This is easy on Prince
Island, where you can choose a harbour tour, seal watching,
kayaking, deep-sea fishing or canoeing. A visit to the racetrack
is usually a hit, where the sound of the hooves and the excitement
of the finish are fun for everybody. And of course, mini golf
courses are easily accessible.
It seems every weekend there is something happening somewhere
around the Island. The community festivals usually revolve around
lobster, oysters, potatoes, and draft horses, just to name a few.
For fans, and even those not so keen, we recommend a visit to
Green Gables House, the musical at the Charlottetown Festival, or
the Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver bush.
